Personal: Tokyo Cafe
It's my parent's 22nd wedding anniversary today, so I had to leave the office early to be able to make it on time for dinner. Unfortunately, Bige was not able to make it since she had to go back to the office to finish some work, considering that she was already at SM. :(
Moving on...
6pm, typical rush hour, I had to walk my way (again) to the MRT station since all the PUJ's were fully-loaded. Did I mention that it was raining? Actually, the rain was not an issue at all, at least it wasn't hot. But that was not the case when I reached the MRT station! The long queue to enter the station, long wait for the train, people pushing their way inside the train, no hand-rails to hold on to, no fan (well, the aircon wasn't even reaching the middle part of the train...so it's hot), and the sweaty atmosphere that every passenger had to endure...fortunately I'm taller than them, so I had a bit of fresh air, just a bit...oh, and I saw my elementary friend, Mark Alcantara, we were buddies back then.
My family had dinner at Tokyo Cafe in SM's The Block. It was my first time to eat there. At first, as the resto name suggests, I thought they serve Japanese dishes and stuff similar to Teriyaki boy and Tokyo Tokyo but I was wrong. They serve pizza, burger, pasta, milkshakes, salad, and some deep fried dishes. The only Japanese dish that they serve, as far as I can recall and know, were the deep-fried dishes. And, they greet in Nihonggo. Anyway...We ordered Seafood Mix Fry (deep fried shrimp, squid, and fish), Chicken Cheese Roll (deep fried chicken roll with mozzarella cheese inside), Mango Chicken Salad (typical salad with chicken and mango...duh), and White Cheese Carbonara (carbonara...again, duh). The dishes are good, but not good enough. The price is not worth it. But, I really liked the dip for the Seafood Mix Fry. It was a bit sour, and at the same time, sweet. Loved it. Oh! and the Oreo Milkshake, it was good...just some happy hormones. ^__^
Above everthing, I'm glad that my mom and dad are happy together.
