It's almost 8am, we're about to leave the house and go to NAIA. Our flight is around 12pm and we're scheduled to arrive at Singapore Airport at around 3-4pm. Excited? of course I am though I feel sleepy since we had to wake up early and go to church first. Guess I just have to sleep during the flight and wake up before we see land.
Before I leave, checklist:
PSP, checked.
Ipod, checked.
Cellphone, checked.
Camera, batteries, checked.
Chargers, checked.
Laptop, I wish.
Résumé, Hey! Who the hell placed this in my checklist!? Anyway...
Clothes and everything else, checked.
I'm packed and ready to go. Happy New Year to Everyone! (^^,)v
Just one more day at work, then it'll be a long work hiatus for me. Singapore, here I come! Nah, not for good... *think* *think*
What good places/shows/events in Singapore should we visit? We'll be there from December 29 until January 2. We know we should visit the Bird Park and Night Safari, what else? Suggestions? Anyone?
But before our Singapore getaway, the family will stay at the Manila Pavilion on the 23rd until the 25th of the month. We'll be roaming the streets of Roxas Blvd and Mall Of Asia (MOA) on the 24th. Heard that MOA will be conducting something on Christmas Eve. We'll not celebrate Christmas because our religion doesn't have Christmas, we'll just wander around to have something to do during the holidays.
I hope that I'll be able to post a new entry here while I'm away for vacation, probably through my PSP or "my" *ahem* "laptop".
As for now, I have to get some sleep. I've been experiencing dizziness, due to lack of sleep, for 4 consecutive days now.
"I already have a desktop PC, so, why would I need a laptop?"
I've read a couple of articles tackling about buying stuff considerable as assets and not liabilities; stuff that you can use to earn; needs above wants. So far, I'm far from achieving that kind of control, but to be fair, I'm trying to take that level of thinking into consideration. *grin*
So, do I need a laptop? As what I, with a big grin on my face, always say to Ron: "Yes I need a laptop once I go there." There where you ask? Accenture peeps, you know what I mean. Lol. I really don't need it aside from that purpose, not especially a Macbook. Why would I carry a Macbook while commuting on the ever-safe streets of QC-Makati-Caloocan? My resolve is firm, I don't need a Macbook, but I need a laptop. ^^,
Laptop prospect numero uno:ASUS EEE PC (approx. PhP 25,000 for 8Gb)
When I've read about the ASUS EEE PC in a local gadgets magazine, I got fascinated by its simplicity, ultra-portability, and cheap price. I said to myself that this is enough for my word processing tasks, net-surfing and blogging needs. Unfortunately, the 8Gb version of this baby is not yet available here in the Philippines. Thus, the wait starts again.
Laptop prospect numero dos:MSI VR320 K2M (Php 39,999; ++ for upgrades)
I saw this laptop yesterday at the Cyberzone in SM North Edsa. My purpose of buying-a-black-ink-for-my-printer-slash-canvassing-for-a-laptop was a success. See the specs below:
Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile Technology Intel Core™2 Duo T5200 1.60GHz 533MHz 2MB L2 Cache Processor ATI RC410ME Chipset ATI Mobility Radeon X200Graphics 256MB Shared MSI Wireless 802.11G 1GB DDR2 Memory (Max: 2GB) 80GB Hard Disk Drive Super-Multi DVD+/-RW/Ram Dual Layer Drive Superb Glare 13.3" Widescreen Display (1280x768) Card Reader 4-in-1 MMC/SD/MS/MSPro Firewire Port /10/100Lan / 56K Modem 3 x USB2.0, Express Card Slot Weight : 2.1kg; Battery life: 3Hours (6-Cell) Mega Carrying Bag NO OPERATING SYSTEM
Ain't that wonderful?? Sufficient enough for my needs. Plus, No OS! Welcome Ubuntu. *evil laugh*
Now, I just need the cash. Where the hell did I put my savings...? ...Spent it already... darn!
Any comments or suggestions regarding my laptop prospects is very much accepted and appreciated. ^^,
Em, my best friend, told me about this tea place that has a good tasting Nai Cha - Chowking's term for milk tea and I would think that this is really the Chinese/Taiwanese term for milk tea. The tea place is called Bubble Tea, located at The Block (SM North Edsa).
Trusting Em's good taste for food, I invited Bige to have a quick snack at Bubble Tea after watching the movie Beowulf, which I thought was a good movie, but turns out it isn't. Well, that's just me.
Anyway, Bige and I ordered what Em suggested - Royal Milk Tea. I'm not sure what's special/different with it but it really tastes good. We also ordered Chizu Maki (Php135) and Kani Crab Sandwich (Php165) - as far as I can recall, that's the price. Both tastes great. We loved it. And we're looking forward to taste the other dishes they offer.
In addition, Bubble Tea's interior design is nice. I liked it actually. The interiors alone is very inviting.
